If you’re interested in yoga, but you don’t want to go to a class, there are some great ways to try yoga at home. That way you can see if it’s something you might enjoy, and you won’t have to feel uncertain or uncomfortable in front of other people at a studio. Not everyone likes to venture out to a fitness class, and there might not be any options close to your location, either. You don’t have to give up on your fitness goals, though, when you have at-home options. Here are three of the best ways to give yoga a try at home.
1. Check Out YouTube Videos
There are a lot of yoga videos on YouTube. From Yoga with Adrienne to Aham Yoga and more, you can choose an option that works for you and helps increase your fitness. That way you can try out different types of yoga at home, and see what you like best. Some beginner options are easier than others, and you might have styles or instructors you like better, too. Using YouTube gives you the option to explore a lot of different videos, so you aren’t stuck with something that doesn’t work for your needs or goals.
2. Download a Fitness App
Another way you can try yoga in the privacy of your own home is to download a fitness app like Aaptiv, Peloton, iFit, or others. If you choose one that meets your needs, you can try a lot of yoga options and other fitness activities when they’re convenient for you. Fortunately, there are a lot of apps. If one doesn’t work for you, there are plenty of others you can try out. Whether you’re at home, in a local park, or somewhere else where you have the time and opportunity to be active, a fitness app can be a great choice.
3. Check Local Studios for Online Classes
Sometimes, local yoga studios will offer online classes or other internet-based options. That way you don’t feel pressured to go to the studio if you’re not comfortable doing that. But you can start learning yoga at home, and eventually you might want to go to the studio and participate in an in-person class. If you live in a bigger city, you may even find that you have several local studios or groups to choose from. If one isn’t right for you, try out others that also offer online class options — often at least some will be free.
Trying yoga at home can be a great way to work on fitness and flexibility. It’s also a good option for people who don’t have a schedule that lets them go to in-person classes, or who don’t have local classes available in their area. If you’re not sure whether you’d enjoy yoga, or don’t feel comfortable trying to learn it around other people, those are also great reasons to focus on what yoga options at home can offer. When you find a yoga option you like, you’re more likely to stick with it and keep working on the more difficult poses and a higher level of fitness, too.
