An event is only as good as the venue hosting it, but luckily for event planners in Boston, they are plenty of excellent options. Whether you’re looking for someplace classic, artistic, spacious or anywhere in between, there’s a place in Boston that will work for you. Here are five of our favorite event venues in the city.
Space 57 @ Revere Hotel
Space: 67,000 sq. ft.
Why We Love It: Located inside the boutique Revere Hotel just a few blocks from Boston Common, Space 57 combines a prime downtown location with top-drawer amenities — including a built-in 30 ft. video screen — and a layout that easily adaptable for different events. Outside of the space itself, the Revere’s rooftop pool and elegant Emerald Lounge offer additional options for post-event socializing.
Frost Ice Bar
Space: 2,600 sq. ft.
Why We Love It: This is the ultimate icebreaker. Event managers seeking a unique and memorable experience should consider Frost, located above historic Faneuil Hall, where you can share original cocktails and conversation in one of the world’s largest ice bars. Temperatures are kept at a frigid 21 degrees, but when your guests are standing amidst stunning ice sculptures of Boston landmarks with a drink in hand, everybody’s chilling.
Boston Harbor Distillery
Space: 11,000 sq. ft.
Why We Love It: Recently opened in June, the Boston Harbor Distillery has already distinguished itself as a must-see event space. The waterfront Civil War-era warehouse has been revamped into an elegant distillery with tasting room and lounge, where guests can sample whiskey varieties such as Lawley’s New England Spirit (distilled with local maple syrup) underneath 40-foot ceilings of exposed brick and wooden beams.
Space:3,000 sq. ft.
Why We Love It: This South End jazz club and restaurant is a favorite with locals thanks to its quirky Bohemian vibe and stellar food and drink program. Perfect for large or small events, the Beehive offers an unique atmosphere inspired by Parisian art, music, and cocktails, with an outdoor patio for the steamy summer months.
140 Supper Club @ Fairmont Copley Hotel
Space: 740 sq. ft.
Why We Love It: The newly available 140 Supper Club inside Boston’s historic Fairmont Copley Hotel provides a touch of refined elegance for smaller events and dinners. The gorgeously appointed room mixes city and country style; after gaining access through the secret, password-protected entrance, guests descend a spiral staircase into a room featuring a long, refurbished farmer’s table seated under a chandelier, where they’ll be treated to a seasonally inspired four-course dinner created by Executive Chef Laurent Poulain. This is a smaller room that still leaves a big impression.
