How to write your own affirmations
If you’d prefer to write your own affirmations, you can follow these five simple steps:
- Clearly define your objective: Start by identifying the specific area of your life where you want to make changes. You could pick your career, relationships, health, or anything that’s important to you; in this case, we’re talking about job searching and your career.
- Use positive phrasing: Affirmations are positive statements, so make sure you use language that is uplifting and empowering. Avoid negative words like “don’t” or “can’t” and focus on what you want to achieve!
- Be specific: Specific affirmations are usually more effective than general ones. Instead of saying “I’m successful”, try saying “I’m successful at landing my dream job.”
- Use present tense: Affirmations should be written in the present tense. Why? It tricks your brain into believing that the affirmation is true.
- Repeat daily: Affirmations are most effective when you use them! Choose a time of day that works best for you and make it a daily habit to recite your affirmations. As with starting any new habit, it can be helpful to connect this new habit with something you already do, such as brushing your teeth. You can try writing them down or saying them out loud to yourself – whatever you prefer!
We’d love to help you find a new job, whether it’s a full-time position or gigs near you. Whatever you’re looking for, Jobble can help.
